Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 18, 2026
The short version: no account, no email, and your microphone audio never leaves your device. We run anonymous, cookieless stats on our own server. Pages may show ads served by Google, which uses its own cookies — details below.
Your microphone
The mic is optional and only used for the on-beat score. An on-device speech detector (Silero VAD) runs entirely in your browser and only notes the moment a word starts. No audio is ever recorded, stored, or uploaded. If you deny mic permission, the whole game still works. Your score just isn't mic-verified.
What we collect
Anonymous usage stats on our own server: pages viewed, button clicks, time on page, and game timing stats (like your on-beat rate). We use this only to improve the game. Our analytics are self-hosted and cookieless. No IP addresses are stored. One random id resets every visit; a second sits in your browser's local storage so we can count returning visits. No personal info in it, and clearing your site data wipes it.
If you send feedback through the in-site form, we store your message, an optional star rating and topic, and the page you sent it from. So we can reproduce bugs, a report may also carry your anonymous session id, the beat that was playing, and whether the mic was on. Leaving an email or handle is optional and only used to reply.
Stored on your device
Your scores, streaks, and custom beat library live in your browser's local storage. We never see them, and clearing your browser data erases them for good.
YouTube and SoundCloud embeds
Beats play through YouTube's or SoundCloud's embedded player, which may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy or SoundCloud's privacy policy. When you paste a beat link, the URL, and nothing else, is sent to our server to measure its BPM and intro.
Advertising
Pages on this site may show ads served by third-party vendors, including Google. Third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Where required (for example in the EEA and the UK), we ask for your consent before personalized ads are shown.
Ads never get access to your microphone: the mic pipeline runs entirely on your device, as described above.
Questions
Email [email protected]: privacy questions, bugs, and game feedback all land at the same address. If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
